The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced the PSL draft 2020 edition on 6th December 2019. Both foreign and local players are assigned to the Diamond, Platinum, Silver, Gold and Emerging categories. The 325 local players include all players from the domestic 1st and 2nd XI squads and U19 players. Besides this year’s policy, cricketers who have represented Pakistan in international games are assigned in the Gold category.
HBL PSL 2020 always focus to promote young talent. For that reason, each team must include at least 2 emerging players in their sixteen-player squad. Every team can nominate up to 6 emerging players and at least 2 talent hunt discoveries.
The number of players in the Gold category includes 48 England, 10 Bangladesh, 40 West Indies, 6 Afghanistan, 19 Sri Lanka, 4 New Zealand, 4 Australia, 3 Ireland, 3 South Africa, 3 Zimbabwe and one each from the Netherlands, Canada, United States, and Scotland.
Pakistan Super League PSL Draft 2020 Edition
The draft of PSL 5 was held on 6th December 2019. The players are divided into five categories that include
- Platinum (Base Price $147,000, Maximum Price $2,18,000- Each tam can pick 3 Platinum players)
- Diamond (Base Price $44,000, Maximum Price $103,000- Each team can pick 3 Diamond players)
- Gold (Base price $44,000, Maximum price $58,000- each team can pick 3 Gold players)
- Silver (Base price $15,000, Maximum price $35,000- each team can pick 5 Silver players)
- Emerging (Base price $6,500, Maximum price $9,500- each team can pick 2 emerging players )

PSL Draft Rules:
According to PSL 5th league draft policy, each tournament team can keep up to 8 players from last year’s schedule. In 16 members’ groups, five foreign players not changed from the previous year edition of HBL PSL.
Each team will be allowed to take two additional players; one can be a foreigner player.
In best Eleven, each team will have the feasibility to take at least three foreign players and a maximum of four.
